After a couple of semesters at the Stockholm School of Economics, I was pretty clear that I wanted to go into consulting after graduation. My reasoning behind this was probably the same as for most management consultants, I found it difficult to limit myself to just one industry and I was attracted by the steep learning curve offered by a consulting career.

Before joining, I had the opportunity to meet with A.T. Kearney consultants on several recruiting events, as well as during the interview rounds. They all came across as very friendly people, highly intelligent, but with a down-to-earth mentality that I appreciated. While my future colleagues were my main reason for choosing A.T. Kearney, the firm was a great fit for me in other ways as well. The Nordic offices are relatively small and have a flat hierarchy, which creates an entrepreneurial atmosphere and allows for close personal relationships between the consultants. At the same time, A.T. Kearney is a truly global firm with a long history, allowing you to use proven methodologies and to meet and learn from co-workers all over the world.

I have spent only four months at A.T. Kearney when writing this, but looking back at what I have done it feels like much longer. Having worked on three different projects so far, I have already gained experience of several industries and worked with high level strategic questions, as well as hands-on operational issues. With project managers who support you while constantly challenging you to go outside your comfort zone, working at A.T. Kearney has been a great experience so far.
